Solutions  ·  Crop protection

Physical protection that lets the crop grow.

Insect net  ·  Shade net  ·  Greenhouse film  ·  Mulch  ·  Weed fabric

A crop protection solution is a coordinated set of physical barriers and climate-management materials that reduce exposure to insects, harsh sun, heavy rain, wind and weeds. It supports integrated crop management. It does not promise zero pests or replace scouting, and we will not pretend otherwise.

Insect net used as a physical crop protection barrier

Above-crop & perimeter

Insect net, greenhouse film and shade net to manage pest entry, sun load, rainfall and microclimate, chosen together with ventilation, pollination and light needs.

Ground level

Mulch film or weed-control fabric to reduce weed competition, conserve moisture and protect the production area.

Risk first

We start from the risk you need to control, then check what each barrier does to light, air and daily work.

What goes into the system

Protection materials organised by risk and growing environment.

Start with the target risk, then check how the barrier changes light, ventilation, humidity, pollination, soil conditions and daily farm operations.

01

Insect-exclusion netting

HDPE insect nets chosen by target pest, mesh, airflow, tensile performance, width, UV exposure and installation method.

02

Shade & heat protection

Shade nets from about 30% to 95% shade rate for greenhouses, nurseries, vegetables and heat-sensitive crops.

03

Greenhouse & weather covers

PE, EVA and PO films with UV, light transmission, diffusion, thermal, anti-fog and anti-drip performance set for the project.

04

Ground, weed & support

Mulch films, permeable weed-control fabric and fiberglass supports for soil cover, clean production zones, low tunnels and net structures.

Application scenarios

Configured for different crops and protection risks.

The best strategy changes with crop sensitivity, target insect, climate, growth stage, structure, pollination method and how much ventilation you can afford to lose.

Greenhouse and tunnel vegetables

Perimeter and vent netting against whitefly, thrips, aphids and Tuta absoluta, with seasonal shade and clean floors.

Seedlings, flowers and nurseries

Fine mesh and controlled shade for sensitive young plants and cut flowers, where a single infestation can cost a whole batch.

Orchards and open-field crops

Shade and insect netting for sunburn and pest pressure, plus mulch or fabric to keep weeds off the root zone.

Complete packages

Packages for pests, climate stress and ground protection.

Choose a protection objective first, then configure mesh, shade rate, film type, GSM, dimensions, UV level, support method and packaging for the site.

01

Insect exclusion

For vegetable, nursery and protected-crop projects.

  • Insect net chosen by target pest
  • Fiberglass supports or greenhouse integration
  • Optional ground cover

02

Heat & high-UV protection

For strong sun and heat, with shade chosen by crop and season, not simply the highest rate.

  • Crop-specific shade net
  • UV-stabilised covering materials
  • Compatible ventilation plan

03

Integrated greenhouse protection

For commercial greenhouses, as one physical-protection system.

  • Greenhouse film
  • Perimeter insect net
  • Seasonal shade
  • Mulch or floor fabric and supports

Why TradeBridge

Protection specified around the crop, not just the product.

A barrier can solve one problem and create another. So we balance protection with light, airflow, humidity, pollination, installation and service life.

01

Risk-based selection

Target insects, heat, radiation, rain, weeds and crop stage defined before choosing materials.

02

Ventilation and light balance

No mesh or shade rate chosen without checking crop airflow and photosynthesis needs.

03

Climate-adapted UV levels

UV stabilisation and expected life matched to local sun, temperature and installation period.

04

Custom dimensions and functions

Mesh, GSM, width, length, film functions, shade rate, colours, labels and packaging.

05

Defined quality control

Dimensions, tensile performance, thickness, GSM, shade rate, light properties and weathering agreed up front.

06

One consolidated order

Compatible nets, films, ground covers and supports combined for projects and dealer assortments.

How it works

How we configure a crop protection solution.

Five steps turn crop risks and site conditions into a protection specification you can review.

Step 01

Identify the crop and risks

Crop, growth stage, site, climate, structure, target pests, pollination method, weed pressure and protection period.

Step 02

Set performance priorities

Required exclusion, shade, weather cover, ground control, airflow, light and service life.

Step 03

Engineer the combination

Net mesh, shade rate, film type and functions, ground-cover specification, dimensions and support method.

Step 04

Approve, supply and inspect

Samples and acceptance criteria confirmed, then physical and dimensional properties checked.

Step 05

Deliver and review

Delivery, then field feedback used to refine the specification for repeat orders.

Example configuration

Physical protection package for high-pest vegetable production

A distributor serving vegetable growers in a warm, high-pest area needs coordinated insect, sun and ground protection. A typical configuration combines ventilation-compatible insect net, seasonal shade net, greenhouse or tunnel film and mulch, specified around target pests, crop light needs and local UV exposure.

FAQ

Crop protection FAQs

Final specifications are confirmed against crop stage, target pest, climate, ventilation, pollination, structure and local crop-management practice.

How should insect-net mesh be chosen?

Choose mesh for the smallest target pest, then check airflow, temperature, humidity and pollination. Common agricultural options run from about 24 to 80 mesh. Finer mesh excludes more insects but reduces ventilation.

Which shade rate suits my crop?

It depends on the crop’s light needs, the season and local sun intensity. Shade nets are available from about 30% to 95%. More shade is not always better: over-shading slows growth and can lower yield.

Which greenhouse film functions are available?

Depending on the film, options include UV stabilisation, high light transmission, light diffusion, thermal retention, anti-fog and anti-drip. We recommend only the functions your crop and climate actually need.

Can physical protection eliminate pesticide use?

No. Nets and films reduce pest pressure and can reduce spray frequency, but they work best as part of integrated pest management with scouting, hygiene and targeted treatment.

How do mulch and weed fabric protect crops?

They block light to weeds, reduce competition for water and nutrients, keep fruit off bare soil and help conserve moisture. Fabric is permeable and long-lasting; mulch film suits shorter crop cycles.

What quality checks can be done before delivery?

Dimensions, tensile performance, thickness or GSM, mesh, shade rate, light properties and weathering-related requirements, with methods agreed before production.
